Hello Girl Meets World Wiki Community,
Summer 2013, Girl Meets World Wikia. This is AwesomeOrange89s story, this is Chad012s story, this is my story. Hello my name is Chad and I am here to tell you about my Wikia career and why I would be the perfect candidate to be the communities next Administrator. I started my Wikia career on August 3rd 2013 at the Kidz-World wikia, when Google suggested that site for more information about my topic. I was so excited to go to a site where I can find information about my topic but also contribute my knowledge, and at the same time meet new people from across the globe. I soon joined the site and quickly became an admin, I was knew but like every new editor with the help of fellow admins I quickly found my way around. I then found Kidzworld Wikia and started editing at the site. I then adopted Kidzworld Wikia, with the hopes of merging it with Kidz-world Wiki. However those hopes quickly faded away. Over time I found new Wikias through talking to other Wikians and through affiliates. I then found out about Community Central, I loved it, people helping me and more people to meet. That is where I spend most of my Wikia time today, helping new members (just like I was) and continuing to meet awesome people. I was even featured on the Community Central homepage to showcase some awesome wikis. I have since been editing every day and everyone I know (including myself) will say I am addicted to Wikia. “I <3 Wikia”. A movie trailer or book or anything can’t go by without me looking for a Wikia about the topic, and if there isn’t one I will find people who know about the topic and start a conversation. I have met some of my greatest friends on Wikia and I believe that I love the community aspect the most (Blogs, Forum, Chat). You can always find me in Disney Wiki chat or Community Central Chat, chatting away. I have learned so much from Wikia and I would not be where I am today without it. I have learned so much about leadership, I am currently 2nd VP for my county student council (which I believe I owe Wikia for teaching me about leadership for). I have learned to love coding, and currently serve as Assistant Webmaster for my state student council (I didn’t even know about coding before Wikia and now I am teaching others). I have made my best friends here. And I have learned that everybody is an anybody, and we all have something to share/contribute. I have also learned so much about social media, such as Twitter (all because of Wikia). What can I say? Wikia is life changing.
Now I think you know me globally by now. So let’s get down to why I am writing you. So I can tell you why I should be the next Administrator.
I have been on Girl Meets World Wikia for almost a year come September 2nd. I was even a temporary admin here at one time. I am ranked in the top 40 on this wiki with over 65 edits. I am currently a Rollback and Chat Moderator and initiated the granting of more rights to the rollback group. I’m also active in chat. I have been involved with cleaning up special pages such as broken redirects as that helps the wiki look more organized. I’m also active in the picture/media section of the wiki and believe that a more visual wiki is a better one, I have been looking through the pages to see which ones have pictures and adding pics to the ones that don’t. I am a great coder, editor, and designer. I also have experience in Social Media Management and Community Management. One of my plans for the wiki is for us to get a spotlight and attract more users. It would also be useful to transition very complicated pages into easier ones by forming templates for a lot of things. I may even be able to get us an interview with the creators of the show. I could also manage the wikis Twitter and get us active in social media.
I have never missed a day without editing and connecting, no madder my situation, no matter how tired I am, no matter if my friends are begging me to hang out, no matter how much school work I have. I am dedicated. Anybody could be an Administrator from just that but that is not the only reason I should be an Admin. In less than a year I have made almost 10,000 global edits (and counting), all while having other stuff on my plate, I am still here active, everyday! 7 reasons why I should be an Admin on this site. 1, I am active. 2, I want to better represent every Wikian to the administration here, and the community. 3, I am a living example to how anything is possible if you try and I want all Wikians to believe that no matter what situation they are in they can always change and be an awesome user (be a role model). 4, I believe that every person in the world is an admin in their own way and everyone has something to add/contribute to the world. 5, I believe that there is a lot more to learn about myself and Wikia and I want to learn it! 6, I want to better assist the community with everything I know and will be learning. 7, I want to meet some awesome people who are just like I am and make new friends. I can promise you that I will always be there and that you can count on me to get out and try to help people through whatever I have to do, no matter what. At the end of the day it’s not a title or a tag but the community that counts.
Thanks,
AwesomeOrange89
